Interactive Education Apps
One of the main reasons tutoring has seen such high growth rates is the global pandemic. Students became more accustomed to online learning as a primary source of lessons and assessments in a way they never had before. COVID opened the door for “companies, like Duolingo and Coursera, [who] pioneered online learning” by creating interactive apps that delivered content through digital graphics.
Since then, other apps worldwide have taken the basic technology premise and ran with it. For example, the musical app Trala “teaches students to play the violin using algorithms that analyze, pitch, and tone,” in a way that would be difficult to do in a traditional music class.
Other apps create digital story books, like A Kids Company, or low tech toys to increase motor skills in young students. What’s great about all of these innovative apps is that we’re seeing them integrated in classroom applications.

Gamifying Learning
It has been a long time coming for digital technology to immerse in students and education. Not long ago, “in June 2020, Byju’s, an India-based educational technology company, introduced Disney BYJU’S Early Learn app.” Byju worked to create an online learning platform that rewards students with game-like graphics and rewards throughout their lessons. Studies like ScienceDirect found that gamification of educational tools, like Disney, Byju increases student performance by over 30%.
This is because more than ⅔ of students, particularly in younger grade levels, report finding gamified lessons more engaging. Today’s younger generations grew up with instant access to internet information or social messaging that none prior experienced at such a young age. Adding visual and engaging graphics creates a longer attention span, and why methods like gamification will be necessary for teaching students in the future.

Data-Driven In-Class Instruction
Intervene K-12 is a pioneer in RTI (Response to Intervention), using technology to drive research-based online instruction into the classroom. K-12 district leaders rely on Intervene K-12 to provide comprehensive intervention for students of all ages. To supplement class lessons, students go through assessments and tutoring sessions with a live tutor at the same time their classroom teacher may be going over something else with the class.
This unique kind of program is beneficial for a diverse range of students and learning styles in comparison to traditional tutoring methods or personalized learning platforms. Intervene K-12’s tutoring sessions can be done while in class so K-12 students never have to feel behind or like tutoring is something they have to do on top of their homework load. But most importantly, Intervene K-12 improves student academic outcomes through deep analyses of student skill deficits, differentiated lessons, and live online small group adapted/ personalized instruction.
