LAS Links is an assessment that students learning the English language are required to take across 4 states: Connecticut, Minnesota, New York, and Texas.
LAS Links assesses the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as English learners (ELs). Assessments are given in four language domains, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. LAS Links evaluates the progress that each English learner makes when becoming proficient in academic English.
Students sometimes struggle because there are limited to no options for practicing the English skills that are tested on the LAS Links test.
LAS Links is a requirement for students whose primary language is not English. This often includes ELs whose parents do not speak English and/or may have declined bilingual or English as a Second Language (ESL) program services.
Each state using LAS Links has different criteria to determine English Learners’ proficiency as well as what is needed to exit out of that state’s English Language program.*
The problem that schools often see is that students are scoring lower than expected on LAS Links and educators are unable to benchmark students to determine readiness.
*To find out more information on exit criteria, please visit your state’s Department of Education site.
LAS Links Pro™ evaluates and drives progress for students to become proficient in the use of academic English.
LAS Links Pro™ uses similar rubrics and metrics as used in the LAS Links to provide both assessment and practice.
The solution is LAS Links Pro™, which provides practice in an environment similar to the LAS Links and gives educators data to assist their students in readiness for the test.
